With our Cake Cabin making a summer appearance this year at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival, next to the Underbelly, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to see what shows are around us and report back to you lovely lot.
If you enjoy improvisation and musicals, then make sure you check out Impromptunes – The Completely Improvised Musical. Guaranteed to have a different show every time, with different high jinks, harmonies and hilarity. On at 5pm every day from the 3rd until the 29th, it is must!
Another musical based one to check out is Gobsmacked! From beat-boxing to harmonies there is sure to be something for everyone at this show. On in George Square it is the perfect show to grab a Mimi’s Cake Shake to take in with you.
Not quite a show but definitely a must! The Family Circus Workshops in The Meadows, only a quick walk from George Square. Learn how to release your inner clown with juggling lessons along with aerial workshops and acrobatics. This is only on from the 10th until the 21st so make sure to book quickly!
If you don’t quite fancy trying your hand at Circus tricks, then why not check out the professionals with Closer by Circa. Having seen them at Edinburgh’s Christmas you are sure to be left amazed by their skills and overall bendiness!
One that is sure to sound familiar to many people out there is Katie Brennan’s Quarter Life Crisis. A mixture of comedy, cabaret and music is used to make light of day to day events of a Quarter Life Crisis. So grab yourself a gin and tonic and of course a cupcake from Mimi’s and enjoy an hour of pure hilarity.
To channel our inner Looney Tunes, in what is sure to be a crazy month, That's All Folks! Be sure to let us know if there are any other shows we must check out and we can add to our list. See you at the Cake Cabin! Love, Gillian x
